Dear Parents / Carers,

Here are dates of key events happening in the Summer term. Going forward, new events or changes are added in bold for easy identification.

Contacts

We are looking into getting our log circles replaced. Does anyone have a link with a tree surgeon? If you are able to help us, please either text or email the school.

Smoke Free Site

This week new ‘Smoke Free’ signs have gone up on our fencing. These signs stem from the new legislation, that came into effect March of this year, that states hospital grounds, school grounds and public playgrounds, as well as outdoor day care and child-minding settings will be required to be smoke-free.

Parish Update

From May 1st, the Church of St. David Lewis in Bettws, of our All Saints Parish will be re-opening. However, please remember that wearing a face covering and booking a place is still required. Please see the All Saints Parish Website for details: www.allsaintsrcnewport.org.uk

Friends of St. Gabriel’s

Join our school lottery – there is a prize for someone in our school community that takes part each week.

Reminder: Symptom Awareness

Please do not send your child to school if they have any of the following symptoms:

  • A new and continuous cough
  • A high temperature
  • Loss of taste or smell

If any of these symptoms occur please book a Covid-19 test as soon as is possible and communicate the result to us via school text service or school email (day or night) as soon as you receive it.

If your child is not in school, for whatever reason, please do text, email or phone us with the reason as soon as possible on the day of absence, as this is part of the records we need to keep in these COVID times in addition to our normal safeguarding procedures.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs M Harris
