Task 4:  Continue to work with pounds and pence.  Look at receipts and calculate totals and change given.

Explore using maths in real life situations such as shopping, buying clothes, holiday treats.

Maths

We will continue to explore using multiplication facts to divide and recognising that half is the same as dividing by 2 and the concept of sharing a given amount.

We need to keep practising our 2s, 3s and 4 times tables.

We will be looking at complements of 100 in relation to multiples of 10 and 5 using the magic stick and number line (65 + _ = 100) following on from our work with pounds and pence, we will  be making links with money.  We will also be developing our problem-solving skills and exploring real life situations using maths.

We will continue to multiply a teens number by 2, 3, 4 and 5 by using grid method.

English

I will be continuing to read The Boy who Grew Dragons and will be setting questions to respond to the text.  Continue to explore your favourite books about dragons or mythical creatures and record yourself reading them on Seesaw.     We will be checking our spellings of High Frequency Words so please practise them at home.  Don’t forget to use Spellamadoodle to practise your spellings, it is a fun way of drawing a picture and writing your spellings around your image!  We will be looking at features of letter writing in a formal way.  Can you practise writing your address and create an imaginary one for your Dragon.

RE We will continue to explore how the Values and Virtues Grateful and Generous can continue to influence our lives?  How do you show generosity? Talk to your grown up about being grateful and generous.   We will be looking at the importance of belonging to a community.   We will look at the journey we have through the year such as birthdays, holidays, term dates, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and how these are celebrated.  We will also look at the liturgical year and how it shapes the Church Family.  We will look at feast celebrations, Sundays and special seasons.

Welsh We will be asking and answering questions using a welsh word mat and you can teach your grown ups some phrases!  We will be listening and responding to welsh stories using simple phrases.  Perhaps you can record yourself and your family?

Task 1: Science

We will continue to explore different rocks and their features.  We will research natural and man-made materials and their properties and suitability for their purpose.  How are materials different, compared to long ago? such as materials for building houses and vast buildings.  Can you research new futuristic materials for buildings and how eco-friendly are they?  We will be exploring new topic vocabulary relating to rocks and their features.

Task 2: Project

WE will continue to create our own 3D model of a dragon using a variety of materials Have a go at making one using man-made or natural materials.  What materials would be suitable?  Why?  Can you plan your model using a diagram and labelling it?  Upload your work to Seesaw.

Task 3: Art

Choose a scene from Tangled, Shrek or another favourite fantasy film and create the image choosing media of your choice.  Can you create an animation?  You can create masks and act it out with your family.
