NEWSLETTER 19.10.18

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Show Racism the Red Card
Today was our charity fundraising day to ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ organised by Pupil Voice. It’s a great cause and it’s so important to raise awareness of the issues. We are pleased to announce that we have raised £163.
Da iawn St. Gabriel’s.

Parking
Local residents have been in contact to share their concerns about cars being on their driveways during the school drop off and pick up times. While we know it is a congested time on the roads surrounding the school, please be mindful of the impact on the local residents.

Disco Update!
Once again, a huge thank you to ‘The Friends of St. Gabriel’s’ for organising and hosting two disco events. A big thank you also, to all the staff members that stayed to help during the events. It was lovely to see the children enjoying themselves. We do not have the final figure for the amount raised yet as last night’s taking is still being counted. However, we do know that it is over £300! Thank you so much for the support you show our school.

Book Fair
We are running a Book Fair, after school until 4pm, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. The classes have had a chance to explore the book fair over the course of today and it is open for business next week. A great chance for some early Christmas shopping! Bear in mind, it is cash only. For every book sold, the school builds towards additional books for our school.

Christmas Fayre
The Christmas Fayre is fast approaching and we are now at the point where we are starting to organise the items for the different stalls. We really appreciate the support you have shown in providing items for a range of stalls over the years.
This year we are starting off with focusing on collecting items for the hamper which is one of our big raffle prizes. Therefore, in exchange for non-uniform on Thursday 25th October, we are requesting contributions of a food item (large or small) that is
suitable to be part of a luxury hamper.

Attendance
Our school attendance has dropped from last week down to 94.5%. Most classes are doing well but a few holidays and a bout of chicken pox in Class 1 has affected our total.
Class 1 92.3%      Class 2  96.4%      Class 3  94.7%      Class 4  94.6%     Class 5  98.3%     Class 6  91%

Four classes have met our school attendance target this week!

School Lottery
There’s a guaranteed winner each week in our school lottery. It’s only £1 to
join and while you’ve an opportunity to win a prize, you are also supporting
fundraising for our school. https://www.yourschoollottery.co.uk/play
