Newsletter 26.2.21

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is such lovely timing that the week I have returned from maternity leave, we have our Foundation Phase learners back with us. Along with all the smiles they have inspired, it seems as the week has gone on they have also brought the sunshine with them!

First Holy Communion

As I’m sure you’ve seen in the Church newsletter, the registration for First Holy Communion is rapidly approaching. Registration is online and must be completed before Monday 1st March. This preparation course is for those children that are in Year 3 or above and have been baptised Roman Catholic.

Eisteddfod

St. David’s Day is on Monday 1st March. Each class will be celebrating the culture and heritage of Wales either in class or at home as part of their blended learning.

On Monday, children can wear traditional welsh costume (if they have this from previous years), Welsh sports tops or the red and green colours of our flag.

World Book Day

World Book Day is taking place on Thursday. Information has been shared via email and activities will link with your children’s learning that week. Here is the official web link for activities at home if you wish: https://www.worldbookday.com/ideas/share-a-story/

Communication with School next week

Over the last year, each school in Newport has had their IT servers and systems upgraded by the local authority. It is our turn next week. This means that in school we will not have access to emails or texts. If you need to contact us, please phone on 01633 273937. Bear in mind that we only have Mrs Harper in the school office so if your call isn’t answered, please leave a message. The answer phone will be checked at frequent intervals.

The lack of ICT access also means that unfortunately the Key Stage Teams Catch Up meetings won’t be able to run next week.

Road closure

We were provided with information today about road closures on Monday and Tuesday that will be directly affecting our school. Please check your email as we have forwarded the information we received to you.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs M. Harris

Headteacher
